Two things trip people up more than anything else: what a toy’s made of, and what size to pick. Here’s a clear, no-nonsense guide to both.
Body-safe materials (the good list)
These are non-porous, easy to clean thoroughly, and safe for the body — what we stock:
- 100% silicone — soft, flexible, warms to the body, and the most popular material for good reason. Use water-based lube with it.
- Borosilicate glass — smooth, non-porous, temperature-playable and beautiful. Works with any lube.
- Stainless steel — weighty, firm, hygienic and temperature-responsive. Works with any lube.
- ABS plastic — hard, smooth and body-safe; common for bullet vibrators and casings.
Materials to be wary of
Anything vague — “jelly,” “TPR/TPE blend,” “PVC,” or unlabelled — can be porous (meaning it traps bacteria) and may contain softeners you don’t want near your body. A strong chemical smell is a red flag. Everything in our range is chosen to avoid these.
Understanding size
Product pages list measurements — here’s how to read them:
- Insertable length is the part that goes in — more useful than total length, which includes the base or handle.
- Diameter (or girth) matters more than length for comfort. A good beginner insertable diameter is around 2.5–3.5cm.
- Compare to something familiar — hold a tape measure, or compare to a household object, before buying.
Our golden rule on sizing
When in doubt, size down. It’s the single most common mistake, and a comfortable, enjoyable experience always beats an ambitious one. You can explore bigger later once you know what you like.
